Chapter 1310:
“That's fantastic!” Elissa celebrated, lifting him into the air as he reached up to her. Her balance was a bit shaky
as she stood.
“Con! Let's go see the paper in my room upstairs!”
“Yeah, let's go!”
Locke's excitement was clear; he was eager to share his achievements with Elissa and enjoy her approval.
Ernest, trailing slightly behind, noticed something was off.
He had observed Elissa wobble a bit when standing, a clear sign her ankle was troubling her.
An hour had passed, and Elissa made her way back downstairs. Locke had been taken to bathe by the nanny,
signaling it was tfor Elissa to leave.
Navigating the stairs was challenging with her sprained ankle; she clung to the handrail, taking each step
carefully.
Upon reaching the ground floor, Elissa exhaled deeply.
“Miss Holland.”
As Elissa regained her balance, she glanced up to find Ernest a short distance away, observing her with a
focused gaze. Startled, Elissa asked, “Mr. Flynn, what's the matter?” Was there something he needed?

Ernest gave a subtle nod. “Please joinover here for a moment.” He then headed towards the sofa.
With a furrowed brow, Elissa paused, but then slowly approached him. “Mr. Flynn...”
“Sit down, please.” Ernest indicated the space next to him on the sofa. To sit next to him? Elissa hesitated and
muttered, “No, | shouldn't.” Right as she began to decline, Ernest gently caught her arm, guiding her to sit next
to him. Elissa looked at him, puzzled.
Without warning, Ernest leaned down toward her injured foot. Shocked, Elissa asked, “Mr. Flynn, what are you
doing?”
In a swift movement, Ernest lifted her leg, resting it gently on his lap.
Elissa’s cheeks flushed a deep scarlet, her heart racing with embarrassment as she tried to shrink away. “Mr.
Flynn...” she murmured, her voice barely a whisper.

“Stay still!” Ernest's brow furrowed, his voice carrying a sharp edge.
“Or do | need to coddle you or something?”
Elissa froze, caught off guard by his words. How was she supposed to respond to that? Yet, his stern tone quelled
her urge to pull away. With the soft glow of the lamp, Ernest examined her ankle, his expression darkening with
each passing moment.
The delicate skin of her ankle was now angrily swollen and red. He shot her a reproachful glance. “Why did you
hide the truth when | asked you earlier?”
Elissa’s tongue tied itself in knots. What could she say to that? With a quiet sigh, Ernest shook his head, a mix of
frustration and resignation in his eyes.
He reached for a small box on the table and opened it with care.
