Chapter 1182: So, that was the truth.
"Hadley..." Denver said, his voice filled with guilt. "I'm sorry. I knew, and I kept it from you. I should've told you sooner." That wasn't exactly a noble move on his part. But sometimes, he let selfishness win.

Denver let out a long breath, the weight of the truth finally off his chest. "Hadley, Eric's done a lot for you." Hadley stayed composed for a while. With a faint smile, she nodded. "I understand. Thanks for telling me." "Then..." Denver hesitated, watching her closely. Her calm unsettled him. "Aren't you going to see him?" "You've done a lot these past few days." Hadley didn't answer his question and offered a faint smile instead. "Now that everything's settled, I need to stay with Joy. You should get srest, too." "Hadley." "Yes, sir!"
"Ow!" Hadley winced as the blade of the apple peeler grazed the finger, crimson blood seeping out.
"Oh no!" Melba, who was nearby, quickly handed her a tissue. "What on earth are you thinking? Are you trying You to peel an apple, or have you started peeling yourself? Quick! Get to the nurse's station and have them take care of it right now!"
"Oh, okay." Hadley nodded faintly, pressing the tissue to her.
