Chapter 196

Eloise was taken by surprise when she received a call from Marc.

She had assumed that their partnership was off the table and was preparing to find another business partner.

But in a surprising twist of fate,

Marc agreed enthusiastically.

What followed was a week of discussing contract details.

Eloise owned six Crescendo Sound Workshops. Of course, the original locations where piano lessons were offered

couldn't be touched. So she used the 20 million dollars that Stuart had invested in renting new spaces and

renovating them.

Every Crescendo Sound Workshop was equipped with a showroom.

Dwight had a lot of friends who were car enthusiasts. They were young men who looked sharp in suits and ties

and were knowledgeable about cars. On the first day of opening, the showrooms were swamped with customers.

200 cars were sold, amounting to 1.2 billion in sales.

Eloise personally called Marc, who was over the moon.

He spoke warmly, "lI underestimated Ms. Laurent's ability. This market has never been tapped into before, and

Ms. Laurent, you're the trailblazer. As a rough and ready kind of guy, I'll give you an extra percentage point as a

celebratory gesture."

Eloise responded with a subtle smile, "Thank you, Marc. I'll treat you to dinner sometime."

Marc returned the offer graciously, "Sure thing."

After she hung up, Dwight cover with a stack of orders. He wore a sleek black suit that complimented his

form, making it hard for anyone to take their eyes off him. He sat next to Eloise and complained in a low voice,

"They're going to eatalive. You've turned this place into a wild Night Club."

As they talked, he couldn't help but get closer and flirt. But Eloise gave him a look. Instantly, Dwight

straightened up. He was a bit afraid of Eloise.

Eloise took the orders from him, flipping through them before praising, "Good job! You must have made quite a

commission today."

Dwight looked at her expectantly.

He wanted her to reward him with something else.

Eloise had no idea about his hidden desires. She thought for a moment before saying, "Today's hype might only

last a week. | want to establish a marketing department to promote our showrooms. Besides, shigh-end

department stores have halls on the first floor which could be a business opportunity."

Dwight groaned, "Woman, how much money do you want to make?"

He didn't want to deal with these complicated matters. He just wanted to rest, flirt with girls and have drinks

with his buddies.

Eloise's expression turned serious.

She said emotionlessly, "If you don't want to do it, I'll call Mr. Arellano right now and explain to him."

"I'll do it. I'll do it." Dwight exclaimed.

He looked at Eloise again. She was reading the marketing plan, her side profile

soft and beautiful. Even her hair color seemed different from others, but it wasn't dyed.

She was so beautiful!

He was determined to win her over. After reaping the fruits of victory, he would show off to Horigan.

Humph!

He was not someone to be trifled with.

At Prestige Legal Advisors, Harvey was in his office wrapping up a video conference.

Denise walked in.

Harvey glanced at her, took a sip of his coffee and asked quietly, "Did you find anything?"

Denise nodded and placed the documents she had been holding in front of him. "Ms. Laurent's project is doing

quite well," she began, "She's planning on expanding her market into Peterborough and the surrounding malls.

She's been on business trips for the past few days."

Harvey slowly flipped through the documents.

He majored in law and minored in finance, so he was well-versed in this area.

He quickly identified sissues, such as sustainability problems. Eloise probably considered this too, which

was why she decided to explore other markets.

"It is a lot of work."

Harvey paused for a moment, "Get Carter from Horigan Inc.'s branch office over here. | have a task for him."

Denise guessed what her supervisor was thinking. He wanted to plant Carter as a mole beside Eloise. She

hesitated but eventually asked, "Why do you help Ms. Laurent without letting her know?"

Harvey gave a bitter smile.

He replied softly, "Because she doesn't want anything | offer."

Denise didn't dare to ask further. She felt that her supervisor had been rather pitiful lately. She also had another

question, as Eloise's business continued to grow, didn't that mean they had even less of a chance?

Seeing through her thoughts, Harvey smiled faintly.

"| just want her to be happy."

He was serious about starting anew with her. Whether her dream was to have children or build a career, he was

supportive. All he wanted was for her to smile at

him.

With Harvey working behind the scenes, Eloise's business took off.

In just over a month, Eloise's nrose to prominence in Peterborough, and she appeared on several business

interviews.

Dwight also got a piece of the limelight.

They even did a photoshoot for a fashion magazine, with the title New Elites of the Automobile Industry. Besides

the cover, there were more than ten exquisite interior shots. They weren't overly intimate, but they exuded a

certain vibe. The identity of Dwight as the son of a southern tycoon was revealed.

His reputation had not been the best before, but now, thanks to Eloise, his image was cleaned up. He was even

lauded by financial reports as a promising young business elite, just like his father.

Of course, this magazine also found its way to Harvey's desk.

He looked at it for a long time.

He was aware of how close Eloise and Dwight were. She cared for Dwight deeply and even took him along on her

business trips to other cities.

Denise walked in to see him in this state. She said softly, "Attorney Horigan, Ms. Laurent is holding a celebration

banquet tomorrow night. | managed to get an invitation. Would you like to attend?"

She gently placed an invitation on the table.

Silver Bay Hotel.

The banquet hosted by Eloise was grand.

Stuart, Dwight's father and the southern tycoon, had call the way from Rossland for the event. Not wanting

to be outdone, Parker also cwith his wife and daughter, along with his good-for-nothing son.

In the green room.

Just as Eloise was about to step out, a waiter knocked on the door. "Ms. Laurent,

a Mr. Lynch sent a gift and said he's waiting for you outside."

He handed her an exquisite box.

Upon opening it, Eloise was surprised to find the pink diamond that she had rejected before.

It was her mother's cherished possession.

Even though Eloise had a grudge against Griffin, she could never turn this down.

Yet, she understood Griffin's intentions; he wanted to exploit the lingering affection her mother held for him to

secure her forgiveness.

Eloise met with Griffin in the lounge.

He calone. Upon seeing Eloise dressed in a white gown, he was reminded of

the young Louise.

With a trembling voice, Griffin pleaded, "Eloise, please forgive me."

Eloise remained composed.

She politely said, "I've been looking for this necklace for a long time. Thank you,

Mr. Lynch, for returning it to its rightful owner. So, as a token of my gratitude, please accept this."

Eloise gently handed him a check. It was for 2 million dollars, three times the market price.

Griffin's complexion turned pale.

What he wanted wasn't money, but a grandchild of his blood.

Eloise smiled faintly, "Mr. Lynch, you're being too greedy. How can all the good

things in the world fall to one family? You, and your family have hurtso much, yet you still expectto

return and play the dutiful daughter, to bring warmth back into your home. But | just cannot do that."

Griffin closed his eyes slightly, "Eloise, whether you believe it or not, I loved your mother most."

Eloise looked down.

She didn't want to hear these words, nor did she believe them.

In the end, Griffin didn't take the check, and left in a panic.
