Chapter 607: "Ms. Clarke, I apologize. It's my failure to discipline him properly." But before he could finish, Santino barked out, "Darrel, you're wrong! You must've mistaken her for someone else." He stepped forward, his chubby face moving closer to Darrel. "She's the one who ordered people to hit me! You should punish her!" Darrel's face turned red with fury. He quickly swung his hand and slapped his nephew across the face. Smack! He really laid into the smack, and it hit Santino right where he was hurt.

"Uncle...why?" he sputtered, disbelief filling his eyes.
Darrel glared at him, barely containing his anger. "You fool," he hissed. "Do you realize who you're insulting?" He was so mad that he felt like smacking him again. "Hurry and apologize to Ms. Clarke, for God's sake!" "Why?" Santino was stunned.
Still defiant, Santino straightened, covering his face with his hand. "I won't apologize to this bitch!" Darrel's patience snapped. Without a second thought, he kicked Santino in the back, sending him crashing to the ground, his knees slamming hard.

Without Allison, Darrel knew he probably wouldn't be there today. Hearing his dumb nephew talk trash about her got under his skin, so he gave him another swift kick. "I said apologize to Ms. Clarke, now!" Santino was silent, still reeling with disbelief.
"Uncle, you're askingto kneel to her?" he spat, both aggrieved and defiant. "How could she be the owner of Sunset Hill?" He wasn't about to believe it.
The crowd murmured, exchanging shocked glances. Darrel Brennan, renowned for his authority, was now bowing to Allison! Someone couldn't help but say, "Seriously? Mr. Brennan actually yelled at his nephew because of Ms. Clarke and even slapped him in front of everyone!" Santino's uncle, Darrel, was a well-known figure with considerable influence. He was tough but earned everyone's respect. Over the years, he ran Sunset Hill smoothly and kept everything in line. But now, this so- called big shot was practically bending over backward to please Allison!
