Chapter 298 Cof Her Own Accord I waited for an hour on the couch in the living room before the door swung open and Eric walked in with a calm expression. In response to my inquiring look, Eric walked over and sat beside me.
"What happened?" I asked, turning to him with a subtle hint of expectation in my gaze.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtEric took out his phone and handed it to me, saying, "I added her on WhatsApp." I checked his phone and saw that they had indeed added each other on WhatsApp. I immediately asked in surprise, "How did that happen?" Upon seeing Eric's reaction earlier, I thought Monica had successfully passed the first test.
Eric shrugged, leaned back on the couch, and sighed, saying, "I didn't even do anything. You had suddenly stormed out, so Josh askedwhat happened. I merely told him that we had an argument. I barely said anything else, but right before I left, Monica suddenly made her move and addedon WhatsApp." Upon hearing that, I asked in surprise, "You mean Josh was there too? How could she act so brazenly in front of him?" Eric pursed his lips in response and explained, "Yes, Josh was present too. He didn't notice anything amiss, though. Monica played it off perfectly, saying that she addedon Whatjust so she could integrate herself better into the Flint family. Her explanation sounded pretty impeccable." I nodded in agreement, thinking that Monica's reasoning was indeed impeccable. I then murmured, "It's possible that she genuinely means it." I had just said that when Eric's phone suddenly lit up with a notification. I could tell from the lock screen that it was a message from Monica.
Upon unlocking the phone, Monica's message cinto view. "Did you get hsafely, Mr. Flint? How is Ms. Brown?" Eric looked atwith a troubled expression, appearing reluctant to respond to Monica's message. I smiled helplessly, took the phone, and replied. "I just got home, and she's fine." Monica's message arrived immediately, accompanied by a relieved emoji. "I'm sure Ms. Brown is just being temperamental. You're such a great guy, Mr. Flint. I don't see any reason why she should be upset with you." Upon seeing that message, I looked up and met Eric's gaze, barely suppressing an incredulous laugh it seemed like Monica was manifesting behaviors comparable to Efsa's. I couldn't help but wonder if these "socialite training classes" primarily focused on training their students' verbal skills.
I contemplated briefly before replying. "It's no big deal. I'll give her a day to calm down. If she truly can't handle it, then we can always get a divorce. I don't really care." I had just finished typing the message when Eric suddenly leaned in and whispered, "I'd never say that. I care a great deal about such matters." I felt my face heat up, and I quickly looked away from him.
Monica followed up with another message. "I actually have a question for you, Mr.
Flint. What prompted you to marry Ms. Brown?" I contemplated for a long tbefore I found a fitting response and sent it to her.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏm"It was just a spur-of-the-moment thing. I'm regretting it now, though."
There was no reply for a long tafter I sent my previous message. I thought Monica wouldn't reply towhen she suddenly sent another message. "If someone who deeply admires you wanted to be with you right now, would you leave Ms. Brown for her?"
I quickly replied. "It really depends on who we're talking about) If she's right for me, then I'd certainly consider it." I then waited for a long tagain for her response. It seemed like Monica was still hesitating as her typing indicator kept flickering on and off in the chat box.
Eric asked indifferently, "Is she really this desperate?"
"I'm not so sure either..." I replied, shaking my head. I hadn't really dealt with anyone like Monica aside from Elsa, so Ncouldn't really provide a definite answer. I felt inexplicably nervous as I glanced at the messages between Monica and me.
Having waited for quite stime, Monica's message finally arrived. "What if that person was me?"
