Chapter 452 Why Am | So Popular
Zachary could clearly see what was on Isla's mind with just one glance.
She wanted to get closer to him, but her pride was a barrier. After he had once mocked her, she couldn't bring
herself to pursue him as she had before. She could only approach him indirectly, which made her seem
somewhat awkward. The last tZachary encountered such behavior was back in high school.
A young girl attempted to offer him breakfast under a pretext, but he refused. Her face flushed, then paled as
she snatched back the breakfast, snapping, "Fine, don't eat it! | didn't want to give it to you anyway!"
The young girl returned to her seat in annoyance. During the break, she held up a pen and asked him, "Hey, is
this your pen? | just found it on the floor."
At a glance, it was clear that Isla had been pampered by her family as she grew up.
For Zachary, such a person was still a child, and it was improbable for him to harbor any feeling toward one.
"Of course it's something important," he said.
The response was essentially a non-answer, causing Isla to be livid.
She wanted to ask him more, to extend their conversation, yet she was apprehensive that he might criticize her
again for not reading the room.
Soon, the sound of steady footsteps descending the stairs echoed in the air.
The individual who arrived appeared to be in his fifties. His features, refined and elegant, had weathered the
passage of time, exuding an undeniable gravitas. Upon seeing the man, Zachary rose to his feet, nodding
slightly with a smile. "Mr. Xenos."
Isla turned around and greeted, "Uncle Matthew."
"Zack, you're here. Please, have a seat."
With a genial smile, Matthew turned his gaze toward Isla. His eyes exuded authority as he said, "Isla, Zack and |
have smatters to discuss. Please, go back upstairs."
Isla bit her lip, only able to nod in agreement.
She hadn't visited this place in over a decade. This time, although the Xenos family appeared to welcher on
the surface, there was a palpable distance between them. It wasn't a place where she could do as she pleased.
Watching Isla ascend the stairs, Matthew gave a faint smile and sat down across from Zachary. "Isla, has been
spoiled by her parents. If she said anything offensive, please don't mind her."

Zachary chuckled, "Not too long ago, | found myself in a perilous situation. Thanks to your impartial enforcement
of the law, | was able to escape danger. For that, | am infinitely grateful. As for Isla, she's just a child at heart and
also your niece, how could | possibly hold anything against her?"
"As an official, it's only natural to serve with integrity and fairness. Isn't that part of the job? What's there to be
grateful for? If you must express your thanks, it would be better directed to your wife," Matthew said with a
smile. "My wife?"
"Yeah, she clooking for me. Weren't you aware?"
It was only then that Zachary learned that on the day Lenora returned to the country, she had found a way to
see Matthew after giving him a piece of her mind at the detention center, hoping that Matthew could help him.
With a helpless smile, Zachary was deeply moved by the revelation.
Back then, she must have been seething with anger, yet she was still figuring out ways to save me.
Every subsequent day, Zachary would call Lenora, eagerly wishing for her swift return.
Lenora reassured him, stating that the shooting session was going smoothly and she should be able to return
hsoon.
On that day, the head of Honeybrooks Kindergarten, Delilah, had a visitor.
The guest was no ordinary person; she was the niece of a high-ranking official, a mixed-race individual who had
returned from abroad.
According to her, her friend was about to return from overseas with their child and she had asked her to help
check out the local kindergartens.
Honeybrooks Kindergarten was one of the top private kindergartens in Jacaster.
The environment, teaching staff, cafeteria, facilities, and so on, were all of the highest standard, including, of
course, the tuition fees.
The kindergarten didn't have summer or winter breaks. The only extended holiday was a two-week break during
New Year's holiday, essentially making it a daycare center. In addition to this, the kindergarten also offered
extracurricular classes for students to develop their interests and hobbies.
Such a kindergarten was generally unaffordable for children from average households, thus the kids there all
cfrom wealthy backgrounds.
Delilah earnestly introduced Isla to the basic facilities of the kindergarten, hoping to win her favor.
Isla had no choice but to patiently interact with her, putting on a convincing act.
Once Delilah had finished the introduction, she asked, "Ms. Isla, is there anything else you would like to know?"
Finally, Isla found her chance to make her request. "I'd like to take a look at the classroom setting."
"Alright, I'll take you there right now. The children are currently in class. You can listen from outside the
classroom to gauge the quality of our teachers here. | guarantee you'll be satisfied." Isla nodded, quickly
following Delilah.
Delilah led Isla to a window outside a classroom, speaking to her in hushed tones. "The teacher inside Ms. Judd,
is an exceptionally
experienced teacher. She's
been awarded at the city level..."

Isla interrupted her, "My friend's child just turned four. After coming back, he should be attending preschool."
Delilah understood Isla's intention. "Alright, I'll take you to visit their class."
There were two classes in preschool. Delilah, escorting Isla, stood in front of the first classroom, explaining what
was going on.
Elia wasn't listening. Instead, her gaze was wandering among the kids in the classroom. Silently, she started
counting in her mind. One, two, three...
She remembered that Tamara had told her the child was in the second row, fourth column.
Isla looked over.
Sitting there was an utterly adorable little girl, with plump cheeks that were irresistibly pinchable. Her eyes were
large, dark, and round, brimming with innocence. Her nose was small and cute, perfectly proportioned to her
face. Her lips were moist and pouty, framed by strawberry hair ties that held up two little ponytails.
The young girl was attentively listening to the teacher and looked too adorable for words.
Isla instantly took a liking to the child.
She took a few unhurried steps forward, arriving at the window by the front door. She studied the young girl's
features with great attention.
Just as expected, the young girl's facial features does bear a striking resemblance to Zachary. It seems that
Tamara didn't lie to me.
Isla pursed her lips.

Though she was quite bothered by the fact that Zachary had a child with another woman, the child was
extremely adorable and her biological mother had passed away, so Isla was able to accept it. Moreover, this
child would be the greatest bond between her and Zachary.
Delilah had been talking to herself for a while, and seeing no reaction from Isla, she couldn't help but ask, "Ms.
Isla, what do you think?"
Snapping back to reality, Isla glanced at her watch. "I'd like to go over there and check out the place where the
kids play during recess." "Alright, I'll take you there right now," Delilah agreed, suspecting nothing.
That was a place where the children used every day, so naturally, it required a little more attention.
The pair had just started walking toward the play area when they heard the chof bells.
Delilah explained, "That's the bell for recess."
As the words fell, the children in the
classroom began to stream out one after another. Their cheers and laughter filled the air as they playfully jostled
with each other, A few of the quicker kids dashed toward the slide and seesaw with lightning speed.
Several children recognized Delilah and courteously greeted her.
Delilah responded with a smile, addressing Isla, "If you have any concerns, Ms. Isla, you're welcto stay here
for a while and observe how they play."
"Alright," Isla responded, yet her gaze involuntarily swept over all the students, finally resting on the preschool
class.
It seemed as though Harrietta hadn't cout yet.
Isla walked under the shade of the trees. As she looked back, she saw Harrietta, nibbling on a small cupcake
while walking out of the classroom. A few of her close friends were trailing alongside her. "Hattie, shall we go
play on the slide?" a little boy next to her suggested.
"No, let's go play on the trampoline!" another little girl proposed.
At that moment, a young boy crunning over from the side. "Hattie, cplay on the seesaw with me!"
The first little boy pouted. "Hattie, would you like to joinon the slide, play on the trampoline with her, or go
on the seesaw with him?"
"Can | just not go at all?" Harrietta glanced at the few children surrounding her, rubbing her forehead in
exasperation.
Why am | so popular?
