Chapter 1140 Bowl! of Oatmeal
"Ahh, | see it now."
Heather experienced a sudden revelation, her eyes widening in astonishment. "So Lennon is getting married to Violet because your
bestie tied the knot; he was devastated and opted out of the dating scene; hence, he decided to tie the knot with his little sister?"
Cherise marveled at Heather's imaginative take on the situation.
She offered a helpless smile. "If that's how you want to interpret it..."
"A melo indeed... the lives of the affluent are trulyplex," Heather remarked.
After concluding the call, Cherise reclined on the bed, her gaze vacant as she stared at the ceiling.
Only earlier that day did she and Lucy finally get employment, and Lucy remained resolute in her resolve to challenge Lennon to
get parental custodian over Alexis.
If Lucy were to learn of Lennon's impending marriage... Cherise couldn't predict whether she would react impulsively or absorb the
news silently.

Nevertheless, Cherise recognized that Lucy's heart would be shattered to pieces.
Though she often projected strength outwardly, when it cto matters of the heart, Lucy was more delicate than anyone
realized.
Cherise's body lay still on the bed, a furrow etched upon her brow as her mind raced with concern for Lucy. She was so engulfed in
her thoughts that she failed to notice when Damien gently pushed the bed doors open.
He carefully set down the piping hot bowl of honey oatmeal on the small bedside table.
Merely ten minutes earlier, Cherise had been ravenous for oatmeal, but now she lay upon the bed, pletely unaware of his
presence, not even catching a hint of the tantalizing aroma of the honey-infused oats.
Taking a seat at the edge of the bed, Damien remarked, "Turns out Mrs. Lenoir wasn't starving after all; she merely wished to tease
me.
His tone carried a light-hearted cheerfulness, finally jolting Cherise back from her reverie.
She straightened up her back, and her gaze was piercing as she fixed it upon him. "Is it true that Lennon is marrying Violet?"
Damien hadn't anticipated that her distracted, absent-minded demeanor was due to fretting over this issue.
His brows knitted slightly. "I'll discuss it with you after you've eaten."
After saying so, he retrieved a small, foldable bed tray and positioned it on the bed, carefully placing the bowl of honey oatmeal
upon it and gently offering a spoon to Cherise.
"I'm not really in the mood to eat," she said, her lips forming a pout as she leaned her weight on the bed tray. Her gaze fixed on the
steaming oats, though her earlier hunger seemed to have vanished.
"You're trying to makeeat the oatmeal before revealing the news, so it must be unpleasant," she remarked.
"You're concerned | won't have an appetite after listening to the news," Cherise added, her tone tinged with knowingness.
She was well aware of his strategies!
Damien raised his brows lightly and then smiled, "Since you know | won't say anything until you finish eating, you should eat this
bowl of oatmeal quickly."
Cherise's lips formed into a pout; even though her hunger gnawed at her stomach, her desire for more information regarding
Lennon and Violet's impending marriage surpassed her urge to gobble down the oats.
She shot Damien a defiant stare.

Undeterred, Damien maintained hisposure, meeting her gaze with an air of nonchalance.
Both of their gazes were lasered in on each other like a silent battle, hers brimming with defiance and his exuding utter
indifference.
After a brief standoff, Cherise finally yielded to his demands.
A faint quiver touched her lips as she dutifully lifted the bowl of oatmeal, scooping up a spoonful.
Yet, before even sampling the honey-infused oats, Cherise made one last plea, "Must you truly wait until I've polished off every last
morsel before revealing the news? Can we discuss this while I'm eating?"
Damien regarded her in silence, his eyes still fixed on her.
Cherise's lips tightened into a tight line, resigned, andmenced eating the oatmeal with an indignant look on her face.
The man held genuine kindness toward her, his affection and concern evident.
Yet, beneath his benevolent facade lay a streak of stubbornness and dominance woven into the fabric of his being. While he could
be flexible at times, there were occasions when his resolve remained unyielding.
At present, Damien steadfastly waited for Cherise to consthe final spoonful of oatmeal before broaching the subject of the
Belcourt siblings’ impending wedding. "Indeed, they are set to marry on the fifteenth of theing month."
