Chapter 1131 Sweet Creations

He drew in a deep breath, lifted the coffee cup, and downed its contents in one swift motion.

Finally, he turned to Cherise, a faint smile dancing on his lips. "You all need to step up your game."

Cherise's brows furrowed. "We need to step up our game?"

She found herselfpletely puzzled by Jude's words.

He had summoned her for a discussion, yet within just a few sentences, he was already emphasizing the need to step up our

game.

What exactly did he mean?

Could he be more specific?

Before Cherise could articulate her bewilderment, Damien's elegant car pulled up outside the café.

A tall, imposing figure swung open the café's glass door and cast a glance in Cherise's direction. "Should | wait?" he asked.

"No, thank you," she responded.

Jude rose from his seat with an air ofposure. "I've just realized there's something | need to discuss with Colin. I'll take my leave

now," he said calmly.

With that, he briskly made his way out of the café, his departure swift and purposeful.

Observing Cherise still lost in thought, Damien flashed a gentle smile as he occupied Jude's vacant seat. With a fluid motion, he

poured her a glass of lemon-infused water, his movements elegant and deliberate. "Something on your mind that's causing

confusion?" he inquired, his tone filled with concern.

"He asked us to step up our game."

Cherise's eyes reflected her perplexity. "I'm not sure | understand what he meant," she admitted.

The man's hand, holding the glass, momentarily stilled, a silent acknowledgment of Cherise's confusion.

He offered a reassuring smile, sliding the glass of lemon water closer to Cherise. "As long as | have a clear understanding, that's

what counts," he affirmed.

Cherise found Damien's response somewhat enigmatic, but she opted not to dwell on the perplexing exchange between Jude and

Damien.

Since she lacked understanding of business matters, Cherise observed them laboring diligently day in and day out, feeling

inadequate in her capacity to contribute. Instead, she opted to fill her days with shopping sprees and culinary adventures with

Lucy.

Lucy went as far as purchasing an oven for Colin's villa. The inseparable duo dedicated their tto perusing dessert recipes on

the inte, sourcing ingredients from the market, experimenting with baking, and finally, enlisting Alexis to sample and critique

their creations.

"You both are definitely going to spoilwith all these treats," Alexis remarked.

Alexis groaned as she settled onto the couch, her gaze shifting to her slightly plumper cheeks with concern. "The kids at

kindergarten are beginning to givesuspicious looks because of this," she lamented.

"Could you two please givea break from your cooking experiments?" Alexis pleaded, sinking deeper into the cushions of the

couch.

Immersed in the task of perfecting her soufflés, Cherise whirled around, shooting him a frosty glare. "What exactly do you mean by

‘cooking experiments?" she demanded.

"Alexis, aren't Auntie Cherry's desserts simply irresistible?" Damien interjected smoothly.

Taken aback by Cherise's intensity, Alexis could only express her frustration with a silent eye roll. "lI don't care. If it's making my

waistline expand, it's experimental!"

Lucy skillfully retrieved the baking tray from the oven. "Guys, being too thin isn't appealing.”

Cherise quickly nodded in agreement. "Absolutely! Your mom used to say the sthing!"

"Ugh..."

Little Alexis slumped on the sofa, feeling disheartened. "I don't want to be a chubby ball!"

"Don't worry, you won't turn into a ball."

With a gentle smile, Lucy carefully packed a dessert into a small box and set it on the coffee table. "It's tfor art class. This is a

little treat for Ms. Coven and the other children."

Alexis pursed her lips thoughtfully. "Ms. Coven from the art class has been trying to watch what she eats."

"In that case, let's share it with the kids," suggested Lucy with a smile.

"Fine," Alexis agreed reluctantly.

The young child rose from their seat, bearing a striking resemblance to a miniature adult. "Well, Ms. Staber and Ms. Shaw ended up

with too many desserts, and Mr. Gray and Mr. Lenoir couldn't eat them all, so they askedto share them with the art class kids,"

Alexis explained matter-of-factly.

With reluctance evident in their actions, they reached for the box. "Ms. Staber, don't worry, I'll make sure the kids get some!"
