Chapter 1121 Practically a Stranger
Colin frowned as he closed the door, lowering his voice, "Why didn't you lock the door?"
They were in a sham marriage and were barely acquainted. Any cautious woman would have locked the door, but Lucy hadn't.
Instead, she remained perfectly calm as she watched him enter the room.
Although her cheeks were rosy, her eyes showed no sign of panic or tears.
Lucy smiled at Colin. "If I'd locked the door, you wouldn't have been able toe in. And if you couldn'te in, that servant
watching from afar would get suspicious. Besides, since | will act this role with you, | have to see it through to the end."
Colin stared at her in astonishment. She wore light purple pajamas that covered her modestly, but she clearly had a great figure.

under the soft glow of the overhead light.
She smiled cooly at Colin, saying, "lI have a black belt in taekwondo, so tonight, you're sleeping on the floor because you can't beat
me.
Colin opened his mouth in surprise. After a moment, he muttered, "Now | understand why that man pursued you so relentlessly."
She was beautiful, kind, confident, and intelligent. Unfortunately, her heart already belonged to another man. Otherwise, he would
never let her go.
Lucy had never imagined that Damien's subordinate would say such a thing when she entered her room. She frowned and threw a
pillow at Colin. "I was going to give you a blanket, but now it seems unnecessary."
"Just sleep with this pillow!"
She seemed annoyed as she set her medical journal on the bedside table and glanced at Colin. "Go lie down and sleep!"
Colin obediently lay down on the blanket spread on the floor. As soon as he settled, Lucy decisively clicked the bedroom light off.
The room fell into silence.
Colin lay on the floor, suddenly wide awake. He rested his head on his arms, staring at the pitch-black ceiling. "Lucy."
"Hmm?" she replied, her voice even colder in the darkness. "What do you want now?"
He chuckled wryly and continued, "lI want to hear about you and him. Although you've been smiling all day and showed no sign of
sadness, | can tell that the calmer you behave, the more it shows how much you're hurting."
After a brief pause, he added, "Besides, I'm practically a stranger to you. Isn't it easier to open up to a stranger?"

Open up to him?
Lucy shifted to a morefortable position on the bed and stared into the dark. "Can | don't? Don't getwrong."
Before Colin could respond, Lucy let out a faint, bitter laugh. "It's not that | don't trust you or dislike you. I'm just not used to
sharing my personal life with others."
It wasn't that she lacked friends. Cherise had been with her through thick and thin since college. Cherise was her dearest and most
trusted friend.
But after Cherise and Damien got back together, Lucy found it hard to share her feelings even with Cherise.
She knew Cherise was happy. She also knew that Cherise's happiness was hard-earned.
So, she didn't want to burden the kind and innocent Cherise with her worries or let her personal issues taint Cherise's happiness.
