Chapter 1116 Lennon's Son
"What's going on?" Colin and Lucy lacked any feelings for each other, and their marriage was purely a business arrangement. Yet,
when it was publicly announced that his bride had a child, Colin's countenance darkened. He snatched the DNA test report from
Lucy's grasp and seethed with rage as he tore it to shreds, allowing the shreds to flutter to the ground. "Just because you produced
so-called proof, it doesn't give you the right to snatch my bride away!"
"Mr. Colin, it appears there's a misunderstanding," Lennon interjected, his brow furrowing. A faint, icy smile played upon his lips.
"I'm not here to steal your bride. | simply seek to reclaim my son before you two exchange vows. As a father, | refuse to let my son
acknowledge another man as his dad just because his mother got married. | don't think that's unreasonable." Despite Lennon's
Colin sensed the resentment and fury simmering beneath Lennon's calm facade. "I won'tpel Lucy's son to addressas
‘Dad,’ | assure you." Colin smiled. He wasn't a fool; he recognized the calculated timing of Lennon's appearance. Lennon had shown
up at this tprecisely because he couldn't let Lucy go. Yet, the pretext Lennon offered seemed feeble and unconvincing.
"I respect Lucy, and likewise, her son holds a place of honor in my eyes," Colin continued, offering a faint smile to Lennon. "Should
her son choose not to call'Dad,' | won't insist he do so. Moreover, if you ever wish to connect with or meet Lucy's son in the
future, I'll encourage it."
With a graceful nod to the murmuring crowd, he added, "As many are aware, I'm not the Gray family's biological son. Mrs. Gray is
my aunt, and Mr. Gray is my uncle. Yet, we maintain a harmonious familial bond."
"With my background, | naturally understand how to engage with Lucy's son without forcing him to acknowledgeas his dad. Sir,
does that make you feel better?" After that, he clasped Lucy's hand, turning back to face the priest.
Lucy stared blankly at the torn shreds of the test report scattered on the floor, gathering her thoughts before gradually regaining
herposure.
Lennon remained immobile, rendered speechless by Colin's remarks. He pressed his lips together and clenched his jaw, his gaze
fixed on the train of Lucy's wedding gown, anguish gripping his heart...
"Sir, do you have any further queries?" The priest's irritation was evident as he addressed Lennon, who remained rooted in place.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏm"If you have no further questions, please don't disturb this couple any further. Return to your seat and extend your blessings to
them, like the other guests."
Blessings? Lennon's eyes flickered with renewed intensity at the mention of that word. No! Lucy couldn't marry another man! She
simply can't! I... | still have so much to make up for. | haven't even apologized properly. | haven't... made amends properly...
As Lennon remained frozen in place, Colin drew a deep breath and turned back once more. "Sir, as | mentioned earlier, you can't
take my bride away with a fabricated DNA test report!"
"That report... isn't fabricated." Before Colin could finish, Lucy, standing beside him, let out a wry chuckle. She closed her eyes, a
bittersweet smile playing on her lips. "lI work in the medical field, and | know the report's authenticity... It's genuine."
