Chapter 1112 He's Dead

The mention of those two words wiped the smile off Lucy's face in an instant. After a pause, she responded to Colin's question with

a chilling expression, "He won't visit me. He's dead."

"D-dead?" Colin was caught off guard by Lucy's revelation, rendered momentarily speechless.

"Lucy means she considers her ex-boyfriend dead to her," Cherise interjected, her lips tightening as she swiftly clarified for Colin

with a faint smile, "You don't need to worry. He... won't show up to visit her."

Colin pursed his lips and let out a sigh, feeling slightly relieved at Cherise's words. He looked at Cherise and Lucy, then stood up

abruptly. "Cherise informedthat it's been a while since you two caught up, so | won't intrude any longer. I'll take my leave!"

With that, he made a swift exit, paying little heed to the reactions of the two women at the table.

How unsettling... Encountering Lucy had been an unexpected twist for him, one he hadn't anticipated. Before he met her, he never

imagined that the woman would be so... frightening. The ease with which she declared her ex-boyfriend deceased was unsettling,

to say the least. She can't go around saying that her ex-boyfriend is dead. Would she do the sif we part ways in the future?

The mere thought of it gave him a headache.

"This person..." Lucy remarked to Cherise as she sat down, watching Colin's departure with a thoughtful gaze, "Despite resembling

Damien, his personality couldn't be more different from Damien's."

Cherise nodded, her lips pursed in agreement. "I never expected him to have such an endearing personality at first..." She paused,

then looked up suddenly as if remembering something. "Oh, by the way, my husband mentioned he collected his and Colin's hair

samples for you to do a DNA test. What are the results?"

Lucy let out a chuckle, casting a somewhat disdainful glance at Cherise. "You were once a doctor. You can't get DNA results from

hair in a day. Results don'te overnight. It hasn't even been twenty-four hours since you providedwith the samples. Why

the rush?"

"Given the circumstances, there's a good chance he's Damien's brother," she continued, lifting her coffee cup to take a sip. "But

from his personality... he doesn't seem like a Lenoir." Setting down her cup, she added, "Then again, Mrs. Gray may have shielded

him too well. Like you. Before marrying Damien, you were remarkably naive."

Cherise hesitated, pondering Lucy's words. "Really?"

"Yes," Lucy replied with a yawn, "If he turns out to be Damien's brother, you and your brother-in-law will share quite a few

similarities. Then, Damien might need to look for a woman with a similar personality to his to manage Colin." With a glint in her

eye, she proposed, "What about Mandy? She doesn't seem eager to marry yet, so pairing her with Damien's brother could work

well."

Cherise remained silent for a moment before interjecting, "Ms. Lucy Staber, please face reality. Colin is your fiancé now. Please

don't play matchmaker."

"Oh,e on, I'm just a temporary stand-in," Lucy waved off Cherise's concern. "I'm just playing a role. Don't oveplicate

things!"

Cherise smirked and changed the subject to Alexis. "He's easy to get along with, isn't he?"

"We get along wonderfully," Lucy replied. As she spoke about her son, a warm, kind smile lit up her face. "He's like my biological

son, and we share a special bond. He's very thoughtful. He constantly clings to me, makingtea, fetchingwater, and sharing

stories to lift my spirits when I'm feeling low..."
