Chapter 1094 The Gray Family
If | can't even trust Jude... Colin found himself at a crossroads, his desperation driving him to seek aid
from the only person available. At least, he reasoned, the man bearing his own visage wouldn't pose any harm to him. Moreover,
Colin thought he currently had the upper hand. Even if Damien was more knowledgeable, Damien couldn't leverage it against him.
Colin took a deep breath. "My supposed father is actually my uncle," Colin confessed, his voice barely above a whisper. "And my
alleged mother is my aunt." He drew a deep breath, gathering his resolve as he shut his eyes. "When | was young, my aunt
confided in me, revealing that she did everything to shield me."
"From the moment | was born, | was kidnapped and separated from my family. My father supported the Gray family's business,
enabling my aunt and uncle to spare no effort in their search for me. Finally, at the age of eight, they confirmed my true identity.

"My aunt and uncle were convinced that my parents met with foul play, possibly at the hands of my father's kin. Fearing for my
safety, they hesitated to returnto my biological family. Instead, they raisedwithin the Gray household, christeningas
Colin. It rhymes with my mom's name."
"Throughout the years, I've formed strong bonds with my aunt, uncle, and Jude," Colin continued, his fingers tangling in his hair.
"However... Jude harbors his own aspirations and refuses to asscontrol of the Gray family's business."
"After much deliberation, my aunt and uncle concluded that since my father had supported the Gray family's business back then, it
was only right forto inherit the family business. But | lack any business acumen... I'm only skilled in the art ofic

Damien regarded Colin with a sense of exasperation. "So they orchestrated a marriage for you, aiming to secure your standing
within the Gray family and provide you, as an adopted son, with the resources to establish yourself in thepany. Additionally,
your future father-in-law and wife can offer you guidance and education," he summarized, a tinge of sympathy coloring his tone.
"I turned to Jude for assistance, and he mentioned finding someone who bears an uncanny resemblance to me..." Colin's nod was
heavy with resignation. "Jude believed that if you took my place, you could resolve many of our troubles, which is why..."
Colin's candid revelation left Cherise speechless and shocked. Firstly, Colin's innocence was startling. Despite his shared
resemblance to Damien, this was their first encounter, and Colin stood opposed to them. His straightforwardness in disclosing his
predicament and seeking Damien's counsel struck Cherise as remarkably naive.

Secondly, Cherise found herself grappling with the contradictions within the Gray family. While it made sense not to return Colin to
his biological family after his mother's passing, allowing him to inherit the family assets seemed... exceedingly generous.
Damien had previously hinted that Gwenn's actions during all these years were backed by someone within the Gray family. Jude
had likely provided her with resources and finances. Yet... Colin's account painted a picture of a benevolent and righteous family. At
the very least, a family that had raised such a naive, educated individual like Colin couldn't be too bad. But how could such a
family also raise someone like Jude? It was a puzzle she couldn't entirely unravel.
Similarly puzzled was Damien. He squinted at Colin, his brows wrinkled. "Do you know Gwenn Tanner?"
Colin frowned, pondering for a moment before shaking his head. "No. Why?" After a brief pause, he glanced toward Beckham, who
remained bound to a chair. "Is she related to this person?"
Damien regarded him silently. "So, you have no knowledge of your brother's activities all this time?"
