X Chapter 0112 Chapter 0112 +25 BONUS The sound of Alexander's voice spurred David into action, but he wasn't fast enough. With two loud bangs, the door burst open. Alexander strode in, a look of anger on his face. His eyes fixed onimmediately and i saw the expression freeze as he took in the scene.

David was standing betweenand Alexander with a stunned look on his face. Clearly, he was as surprised by Alexander's sudden appearance as I was.

With sudden force, he surged forward, throwing a punch that landed with a sharp crack against David's jaw. David's head snapped to the side, and his hand shot up to his face, staggering back several feet.

David cursed under his breath and squared up to fight, but despite everything, I found myself smiling. I knew Alexander wouldn't let him get away with this.

"Keep your filthy hands off of her!" Alexander ordered.

The outrage in his voice was unmistakable, and despite the terror of the situation, a thrill surged through me. I knew, deep down, that Alexander would protect me. He would never allow David to hurt me-not while he was around.

David muttered a string of curses, a sure sign that he knew how much trouble he was in. Alexander's eyes looked past David, fixing on mine.

I found myself unable to focus on anything else. The rest of the room seemed to fall away as I was staring up at Alexander, his expression a mix of concern and fury.

"Are you all right?" he asked softly, his voice filled with worry.

Before I could answer, a blur of motion flashed through my vision. David's fist collided with Alexander's jaw. I cried out in shock as Alexander staggered backward but, incredibly, he didn't fall.

"You're going to pay for that," Alexander growled, his voice dangerously low, eyes locked on David.

I leaned heavily on my weak arms and pushed myself away from the edge of the bedl felt both impossibly light- headed and unbearably heavy all at once, but even through the fog clouding my mind, I recognized something unsettling-the sdangerous edge I'd seen in Alexander the other night, when he had frightened Lily in the restaurant.

There was a simmering fury lurking beneath Alexander's calm exterior, something I had only caught glimpses of in the past. Now, it seemed like he was going to unleash it on David.

I wanted to tell him to calm down, to let the guards handle it. The last thing I wanted was a scene in the middle of the capital or for any negative rumors about Alexander to spread. But given the situation, I knew there was nothing I could say to stop what was coming.

The raw rage in David's eyes made it clear this wasn't going to end without a fight.

"I don't know who you think you are," David growled, his voice low and menacing, "but this is my girl, and I'm not letting you leave here with her." "You have no right to talk about Ella like that," Alexander replied, his tone ice-cold. “And I'm going to show you what happens to people who disrespect my woman." "Who the hell do you think you are?" David said angrily.

"Ella, are you hurt?" Alexander asked, not taking his eyes off David.

"Something's wrong," I said weakly, my head spinning and my body feeling like lead. "I can hardly move." 1/3 Chapter 0112 +25 BONUS A sharp, bitter sound escaped Alexander as he took a step closer to David. "You've drugged her, then." "You can't prove anything," David replied with a smug grin "Don't be so cocky," Alexander shot back, his voice low and dangerous. "Your little plan isn't as foolproof as you thought. You might've drugged my guard too, but he had the sense to callbefore he lost consciousness. Now you've gotto deal with, and I'd bet that wasn't part of your plan." "I don't need a plan to deal with you," David sneered. "You're not nearly as great as you think you are." "Why don't we find out?" Alexander said, cracking his knuckles. In a blink, he rushed forward. His fist connected with David's stomach, the impact forcing David to double over, gasping for air.

Despite having the wind knocked out of him, David wasn't down for long. He quickly stood up straight and lunged forward, tackling Alexander and sending them both tumbling to the ground.

I wanted to look away, but I couldn't tear my eyes from the scene. I had to know what was happening, my mind racing for a solution-something, anything, that could stop this before someone got seriously hurt. But nothing cto me.

And then, I becdistracted by something about Alexander. There was a change in him, something different in the way he moved. We had spent a lot of ttogether, and I had cto know him well, but this side of him had only surfaced once before-at the restaurant when he proposed.

There was a palpable aura of danger around him now, something I couldn't quite explain.

Alexander was back on his feet within seconds. He grabbed David by the hair and yanked him forward, then brought his knee up, connecting with David's chin. David's head snapped back, and he stumbled, clutching his jaw in pain.

"You're never going to put your hands on Ella again," Alexander growled, his voice thick with restrained rage. The intensity in his tone caughtoff guard, sending a shiver down my spine.

"Why are you meddling in my affairs in the first place?" David demanded as he got to his feet before rushing forward and throwing a sloppy punch at Alexander. Alexander easily dodged it, his expression calm and cold.

"I'm not meddling in anything," Alexander replied icily. "You had your chance with Ella, and you threw it away. She's a beautiful, intelligent woman from a respectable family. You couldn't possibly have thought she would stay single for long." "I don't know what gthe two of you are playing," David spat, his voice shaking with fury. "But I'm not going to let you get away with it!"

He swung wildly again, but this time, Alexander caught him by the wrist, m pulling him off balancen One M ve smooth motion, Alexander swept David's feet out from under him, sending him crashing hard onto the ground. "You're not very good at this," Alexander said, his voice completely devoid of amusement or teasing, as if he were -merely stating a fact.

"Freak," David muttered, struggling to his feet.

"Maybe," Alexander replied, a hint of O disdain in his tone. "But at least I'm not a pathetic excuse for a man who cheats on a woman and then behaves like a petulant child when she leaves."

Alexander's words struckdeeply.

m The betrayal I had experienced because of David and Amanda was intense, and it was comforting to hear Alexander call David out for his disrespect. It felt as if he understood my pain better than most-whether from his own past or simply his empathetic nature, 2/3 Chapter 0112 I didn't know, but it soothed me.

"What would you know about it?" David growled.

+25 BONUS "All I know," Alexander replied coolly, "is that Ella is my fiancée now, and you will not cnear her again." "Do you think you can stop me?" David demanded.

"I know I can," Alexander shot back. "The only question is whether I'm going to have to make it permanent or if you'll learn your lesson."
