Chapter 392 Without Hesitation Little did Sierra know that her fragile yet stubbornly composed demeanor only made her seem even more pitiful.

Yvette cursed Douglas in her heart, calling him an absolute bastard. All he ever did was stand up for Melody, never once considering the feelings of others..

Theo glanced at Sierra first. Then, he instructed the person behind him, "Please check on my wife. She almost fell off the horse just now." The doctor, who had been standing quietly with a mask on, immediately stepped forward upon hearing the order. However, before he could reach Sierra, a hand abruptly blocked his way.

"No. Check on Melody first. Her injury is more serious," Douglas ordered.

His face was gloomy, and his stance was unwavering as he stared at Theo.

Daniel and Simon's expressions immediately changed. They quickly stepped in to mediate.

"What's the rush? The doctor is right here. Let him check on Sierra first, then he can properly examine Ms. Jones," Daniel reasoned.

Douglas shot them a look of displeasure, feeling that they had abandoned their old friend just like Theo. All they ever cared about now was Sierra.

"Melody is the one who grew up with us. Emotionally speaking, our bond with her is much deeper." He then gestured toward Melody's foot and continued, "And if we're talking about injuries, hers is obviously worse. No matter how you look at it, she should be treated first." Seeing Theo's expression darken as he strode over, Daniel quickly yanked Douglas aside and motioned for the doctor to proceed. "Go check on the patient. I'll handle this." Douglas struggled against his grip, but Daniel tightened his hold and whispered, "Didn't you hear what Theo said? Sierra almost fell off the horse. Let the doctor check on her first. Once we're sure she's okay, Theo will feel more at ease." He didn't want to say bluntly that Sierra looked like she had been scared senseless. If she had internal injuries, that would be far more serious than Melody's sprained ankle.

"She almost fell, but she didn't, right? Her clothes aren't even dirty. How could she be in worse shape than Melody?" Douglas shook Daniel's hand off and pointed angrily at Sierra.

Melody's eyes flickered. She saw that Theo's gaze was cold and unwavering and knew that he wasn't going to change his decision. She quicklyspoke up, "Douglas, I'm fine. Let the doctor examine Ms. Shaw first." sŵ Her willingness to step back only made Douglas feel even more heartbroken and furious. He looked at Theo and then at Sierra, who was already being examined, his anger boiling over.

"Melody just got back, and you're already treating her like this. Theo, she has always had feelings for you, and you're just going to stand there and coldly watch her suffer?" The atmosphere in the lounge turned suffocating. Even the doctor held his breath. Everyone's eyes fell on Sierra. Everyone had long known about Melody's feelings for Theo, and it was clear she hadn't given up. Yet, since no one had ever said it out loud, they all pretended it wasn't there.

Now that Douglas had spoken so bluntly, everything changed. After this, there would be no way for Sierra and Melody to even pretend to be friendly.

"That was in the past. Ms. Shaw, please don't misunderstand," Melody denied softly. But even as she spoke, her eyes turned red.

Sierra didn't have the energy to deal with her little mind games. She m simply closed her eyes and leaned against Yvette as she recalled the terrifying moment from the stables. Just a little more just a little more, and she would have been trampled to death under those hooves! "I'm already married," Theo stated calmly in a deep voice.

Hearing those words cfrom his mouth for the first time, even though she already knew it, Melody still felt an unbearable ache in her heart. Her chest tightened, and her eyes truly welled up with tears.

Douglas noticed her sorrow immediately, and it made his own heart ache. On one hand, he felt that Melody should accept reality and give upon chasing after Theo, On the other hand, he blamed Theo for being so blunt, wounding Melody's heart without the slightest hesitation.
