She pressed her lips together, still feeling the lingering pain from her injuries. Sierra had specifically mentioned wanting to see William on the phone, but she wasn't sure what Sierra was up to.
As Vera was thinking this, she noticed someone enter and quickly stood up. Seeing it was Sierra, she hurried over. "Cee, are you alright?" Her worried gaze landed on Sierra's shoulder.
Sierra gently grasped her mother's outstretched hand and nodded her head slightly. "I'm fine, Mom. What about you?" Her eyes filled with concern as she noticed the wound on Vera's wrist. Her expression changed instantly, and her sharp, cold gaze shot like a knife toward William, who was sitting on the couch.
"What are you looking at?" William sneered. "This is the consequence of your disobedience!" He gave a dismissive hum, and despite her angry gaze, he didn't feel he had done anything wrong.
Vera panicked, quickly trying to de-escalate. "Cee, I'm fine. It's already healing." Sierra looked at Vera's injury with pain. Seeing the unusual swelling on Vera's face, she couldn't help but feel the urge to beat William up.
However, Vera, noticing Sierra's flushed face, gradually felt relieved. Noticing the tall, burly man standing behind Sierra, she was momentarily stunned and asked, "Cee, who is this?" "He's my bodyguard," Sierra explained.
Before she could say anything else, William scoffed. "You actually brought a bodyguard home? Do you think someone's out to get you?" "Oh, I wouldn't be so sure about that," Sierra replied, her tone laced with amusement. "After all, you tried to havekilled before I was even two months old." She lifted her gaze, giving him a cold glance, her voice laced with a hint of sarcasm.

"Sierra, you've gotten bold. Do you think just because you brought a bodyguard with you, I won't dare lay a hand on you?" he warned, his gaze sharp with malice.
Sierra wasn't the least bit intimidated by his glare. Instead, she chuckled lightly, speaking casually and almost carelessly. "Of course, you could. But if you try to hurt me, Lyonel will break your arm."
