Chapter 80

Gwen was getting dizzy from the uproar in the conference room.

That was when Gwen remembered something Ariana once said. The latter mentioned that if Torrey Co. went

bankrupt, Gwen would be responsible for repaying all of Torrey Co.’s debts. That thought set off even more terror

in Gwen.

“I swear! I've handed the company to Arlana!” Gwen brought out a contract and announced, “We've already

signed the papers! Ariana has already been running the company for a few days!”

Gwen had poured everything from her bag in a panicked attempt to save herself. As expected, she found the

contract she and Ariana had previously signed. There were two coples of the contract at the time; Ariana kept

one, while Gwen kept the other.

Everyone looked at each other with wide eyes once they confirmed the contract in Gwen's hands.

“Holy crap... Torrey Co. is doomed!” someone cried out.

Just then, the conference room’s doors flung open to reveal Ariana, who casually strolled into the room.

Everyone froze when they saw it was her.

Meanwhile, Gwen ran to Ariana like the latter was Gwen's savior.

Gwen cried out, “You finally made it, Ariana! Hurry up and tell everyone you company!”

Ariana couldn't help but chuckle when she saw Gwen urgently trying to dump the trouble onto her. “Aren’t |

already here, Ms. Lambert?”

“What's going on, Ms. Torrey?”

“Yeah! Why is the company yours now?”

The shareholders and directors were displeased with Ariana After all, she used to follow Brian around and never

showed interest in the company’s affairs.

At that moment, Ariana’s lawyer, Allen Quigley, entered the conference room.

Ariana sat at the head of the conference table and declared, ‘My dad leftthis company. It's only reasonable

that | inherit it. Mr. Quigley, please tell everyone.”

“Yes,” answered Allen. He stepped forward, took out a document, and announced, “This is the will Mr. Torrey

established in life. It clearly states the company would be inherited by his daughter, Ariana Torrey.”

“BUL.

“How can that be...?”

The shareholders looked at one another in surprise, as they had never heard Carson mention he wanted Ariana

to run the family business. Moreover, they were surprised he hadn't given the family business to Igor.

Gwen remained aside, not daring to say even a word. After all, with Torrey Co.’s situation, she felt whoever

inherited it would be doomed.

“It seems nobody has any questions about my father’s will Ariana looked to Gwen after that and asked, “I'm sure

you don’t have any doubts about it either, right, Ms. Lambert?”

“No! No, absolutely not!” Gwen waved at once. She was more than happy to give the sinking ship that is Torrey

Co. to anyone who wanted ft.

“If that's the case,” said Ariana, “I'll resolve the company issues.”

“What a bold claim, Ms. Torrey! You think you can resolve blogs, b only millions or tens of millions of losses?”

And how will you do it? Do you think it’s

“Yeah! It’s a loss of over one billion! How could you possibly resolve it with ease?”

“Ms. Torrey, | know you're an heiress and have never needed to worry about money. However, you can’t reve the

company’s issues by begging Mr. Lodge for help and putting in a few nice words to him!”

“From how | see things, | suggest you give up the company while you still can, Ms. Torrey, Or, you could sell it to

pay back the debts!”
