“Know your limits, Ariana.” A frown marred Brian's face. It's not like | absolutely need your food.”

“You're on your own, then, Mr. Lodge.” Ariana ate a mouthful of her omelet before Brian as though taunting him.

She knew Brian was spoiled rotten since he was young, so he didn’t know how to cook.

Brian didn’t burst out in rage upon facing Ariana’s taunts. Instead, he scoffed at how bolder she had gotten.

Brian stood, entered the kitchen, and found a few instant noodle packets in the cabinet. So, he grabbed one for

himself.

Ariana’s smirk deepened at that. She wanted to see what Brian would do next. Much like she expected, many

loud sounds soon emanated from the kitchen.

Brian had no choice but to exit the kitchen with a simple bowl of instant noodles in the end.

Ariana had already finished her meal by then. She entered the kitchen with her empty plate while peering at

Brian's instant noodles. Then, the corner of her lips curled into a sneer.

That utterly angered Brian.

“What are you getting at, Ariana?” he snapped.

“Oh, nothing. You're overthinking things, Mr. Lodge.” Ariana smiled at Brian, adding, “I'm just here to wash my

plate.”

Although she said that, her smirk made it clear that she mocked Brian for not knowing how to cook at his age.

Brian lost all his appetite just then. He approached the wine cabinet, grabbed a random bottle of wine, and threw

his head back while downing its contents.

Ariana knew Brian tended to have stomach issues. Yet, Brian still habitually drank a glass of red wine every night

to relax.

She witnessed the sight before her and thought, “I must've lost my mind in my previous life to want to help

Brian, quit drinking. Now that | think about it, I'd rather look after myself than worry about someone else.”

Ariana looked away from Brian, thinking the latter could drink all he wanted. After all, even if he died of drinking.

it would have nothing to do with her.

Twent by, and the atmosphere in the dining room becawkward.

Ariana was counting down the time. Yet, Belinda didn’t seem likely to return anytsoon when it turned 11:00

pm.

As for Brian, he was resting on the couch and reading the newspaper.

In the end, Ariana lost her patience first. She voiced, “I'm going to check if they've unlocked the door.”

Brian emotionlessly spoke when he saw Ariana get off the couch. “I already tried opening it ten minutes ago. It's

still locked.”

That rendered Ariana speechless. She eventually said, “I'm going to bed upstairs, then.”

“Are you seriously acting like this is your hnow, Ariana?”

“Do you think | want to live in your home, Brian?” Ariana found him unreasonable. “Why don’t you think about

who it was that broughthere in the first place?”

‘So, you're saying this is all my fault?” Brian snorted, “You were the one who refused to cwhen | asked

during the day, yet you insisted on followinghere at night. You must be so innocent, huh, Ariana?”

“Mr. Lodge, you phoned my family residence and asked Emily to pickup. You practically forcedto come

here”

“Why, you-"

“I'm exhausted and have no energy left to argue with you, Mr. Lodge.” After saying that, Ariana wanted to go

upstairs.

However, that only ignited a blazing fire in Brian's chest. He felt Ariana had becbolder since they registered

their marriage. She always seemed eager to anger him until his stomach issues worsened.

Upon going upstairs, Ariana opened the door to the room she used to stay in at the Lodge residence.
